Good morning families
How is it even possible that we have already had our first night of the season. I certainly had flashbacks to the start of last season, a little chaotic but we got there in the end. A HUGE thanks to Chris Bagley for coming to the rescue to help solve our IT issues which caused a short delay to first race.
I can confirm our race times are now available in SwimTopia for you and your swimmers to review.
As you would be aware this season we are introducing a Swimmer of the Week Award, I would like to put a call out to our swimmers and spectators, you are our eyes and ears when we are busy running the night, we don't see everything, so from next week if you think someone should be nominated for Swimmer of the Week please let us know. You can either let one of us know on the night or send through an email. We would love for the Piranha Community to help drive this weekly award.
This weeks Swimmer of the Week Award goes to Kiralee Griffis, Miss K only swam one race last night and that was the 25m Breaststroke. Kira was in a race with two others, both of which are a lot older than Kira who is 7 (10 & 13). When Kira first arrived last night she wasn't really in the mood for swimming but she did it anyway, got in the water and gave it her all and actually won that race by 1 sec.
What makes the Piranhas different to every other Swim Club out there, we are a club that celebrates everyone's successes, and it doesn't matter if you win or lose its about just giving it your absolute best. Even though Kira didn't really want to swim she got in and gave it a red hot go, the winning wasn't important it was just the cherry on top! Congratulations Kira, next week please come and see me for your prize.
Our beloved Canteen Coordinator, Kristina is heading off on a holiday and will not be around next week so to make it easier on our "non chefs" there will be a limited menu available. Toasties, Hot Dogs and Hot Meals will be available for purchase along with the standard drinks and snacks (not chips and nuggets).
See you all next week and as always open to receive feedback or suggestions on how you want to see the club run.
Amie
PS Congrats again Kira
